============================================================================= Title : StrifeDoom 2000 V1.00000000000000000 and one half Source port : MBF. Use others at your peril. Author : Len Pitre Email Address : I_am_the_archon@hotmail.com Misc. Author Info : Thinks that this game is one big allegory. ... All gory? Paraphrased song lyric of the week: It won't last beyond breakfast, It's a phase I'm going through. Previous works : MBFEDIT!.WAD, HereDoom, tons of stuff. Half to blame for Gatchaman Doom:) www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Academy/6351/g_doom.html (Blasted long URLs....) Description : Strife Shareware, but with the Doomguy instead of the Strife-guy. Plus some extra twists.... Additional Credits to : Rogue for not suing me over this. Rez for beta testing. Sparky of KISS Software for reminding me to release this. == Play Information ========================================================= Episode and Level # : MAP01, that used to be MAP01-03 of Strife. Single Player : Yes Cooperative 2-4 Player : Yes Deathmatch 2-4 Player : Yes Difficulty Settings : If Strife had them, so do we. (Yes) New Sounds : Yes New Graphics : Sure thing New Music : Yep Demos Replaced : The first and second. The first is me playing and not giving away secrets, the second is me playing and cutting it short due to Real Life biting me. Nothing fancy, just something to keep the old demo from crashing MBF. == Construction ============================================================= Base : Strife Shareware Editors used : DeHackEd, Wintex, DCK 3.62, RMB (I think...) and Deutex Build Time : Many evenings. Known Bugs : You think I make bug-ridden WADs? Ha! I mock you! Okay, some texture misalignments. Sue me.:) Some other misc. stuff, like a bit-over-100% kills if you bump off the peasants too. Sorry, but it's a logistics thing. Whatever that means. MORAL: If it bugs you, mail me about it. == Copyright / Permissions ================================================== Authors MAY use this as a base to build additional levels, if they keep the credits to Rogue and send me a nice e-mail or money.:) You MAY distribute this WAD provided you include this file, with no modifications. You MAY distribute this file in any electronic format (BBS, Diskette, CD, etc.) as long as you include this file intact. I also suggest that you let me know about it, or I'll send some Templars after you. (I like that word: Templar. Sounds cool. I think I'll say it again. Templar.) You MAY have noted that I stole this text file from my HereDoom project, and edited it slightly. Good for you. == Where to get this WAD ==================================================== Considering all the copyrighted stuff, definitely not CDROM.COM!!! My webpage. http://archonrealm.cjb.net/ == Notes ==================================================================== NAQ (Never-asked questions:) Q: How do I run it? A: "Strife2k", if everything's in one directory. If not, "mbf -file strlev.wad strspr.wad -deh strbex.bex" with the appropriate paths is fine. Extensions are optional, of course. Q: Why not one big file? A: Because I like keeping things separate and organized. Q: Where's the exit?!??!?! A: Sort of out of the way. It's across from the jail, but you need to kill off the Crusaders before you can go through. Q: Crusaders? A: If you haven't played Strife - the big robot things. A: If you have - boy are YOU in for a shock.... Heh.... :> Q: What does this game teach us? A: That monotheism is dangerous. Go hug a tree, or something. Len Pitre August 23, 2000
