Hi all. No demo, since it'd be hard as hell to do. You know the last map of Death Kings of the Dark Citadel? Where you fight the three class "archetypes"? Well, here's something to try to make it interesting. Warp to level. INDIANA yourself some artifacts. NRA yourself some weapons as well, but you can't rely on them for long! Wait for the bad guys to show up. Pummel them. Wait for the first boss. When his stained glass window shatters, sneak up on him (if possible) and use a banishment device on him. I'm told that in the original Hexen this'd banish them entirely and you didn't need to fight these bosses, but here it doesn't work. It just teleports them to a random spot in the arena. Except.... Like the original Hexen, banishing a monster starts its death scripting just like it was killed. (Else, banishing a scripted monster would make the game unwinnable.) So the next round of monsters spawns a few seconds later. Run around the arena, not firing, just getting the boss to wipe out the monsters and vice versa. When the second boss shows up, get them into a fight to the death, or banish the second one right away so the two of them can take on the final waves of monsters. By the end of this, the first one will likely be dead. But now you still have the second and third boss to play with! If you bore of this, banish or kill the third and open the exit. I find this far more fun than playing the level as expected! Len Pitre September 23, 2001 AD.
